Is this enamel frypan good for camping?
Yes. The enamel-on-steel construction is the traditional South African outdoor cooking material. Light enough to carry, durable enough for direct open-fire use, easy to clean even without running water. The 24 cm size fits most braai grids and camping stoves.
Can I use it on a braai or open fire?
Yes. Enamel-on-steel handles direct open-fire heat without warping (unlike non-stick coatings, which would burn off, or thin aluminium, which would buckle). For long sessions, use a heat distribution plate on a high-heat fire to prevent burning the food onto the enamel.
Is the enamel coating safe?
Yes. Vitreous (glass) enamel coatings are food-safe, non-reactive, and have been used on cookware since the 1800s. The double-coated enamel resists chipping. Small chips can occur if dropped on a hard surface — these are cosmetic and do not affect function.
